# Bid Bond Requirement

If the lowest bidder forgets to include a bid bond in their bid, is their bid rejected and the owner will have to select the next lowest bidder? or can owner select the bidder and request for the missing bid bond?

Ultimately the owner is the determining party. You will note the omitted portion of the bid with the owner, and if the owner determines that the bid bond is required, then the bid would be disqualified. If the owner waives that portion, then they could select the lowest bidder. We always like to recommend the lowest “responsible” bidder.
