I referred to the listed resources below the question about mechanical flow diagrams. I am not seeing a mechanical flow diagram.

@dbollen The references indicated for this question were more for general HVAC knowledge and how the various components relate to a mechanical flow diagram and other drawings types; but you’re right, I don’t see specific mechanical flow diagrams in any of the NCARB-recommended references.

I did a quick search and found this resource, which does a great job explaining the purpose of a mechanical flow diagram and what it entails, as well as providing an example of one: \*\* [Mechanical Flow Diagram - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/engineering/mechanical-flow-diagram#:%5C~:text=Mechanical%20flow%20diagrams%20define%20the,pipe%20routed%20through%20the%20facility) .\*\*

For this type of question, using a process of elimination is a great strategy if you didn’t know exactly what a mechanical flow diagram was right away. If you could easily eliminate _fan coil mounting heights_ and _diffuser locations_ based on your general knowledge/experience of construction documents, you’d be left with your four correct answer choices.

Hope this helps!

> Hi, I have a question about Real world practice, PDD. HVAC, Electrical, & Plumbing [Exercise B], Question 4 of 10. The correct option is listed as saying, “central systems are more efficient and require less space than water systems”. I think this is wrong, can someone confirm?

The correct answer choice actually states: _ **“Central air systems are typically less expensive and require less space for piping and equipment.”** _

Since air systems use ductwork rather than extensive hydronic piping networks, pumps, and related equipment, they are often simpler and less expensive to install.

Hope this helps!
