I got a couple questions wrong on the practice management practice exam form #1, and I’m not sure if there’s an error with Black Spectacles’ answers, or if there’s something I’m not understanding. Feedback from the BS team would be appreciated! Question #63 “Which additional consultants are required for this project?”: The correct answer lists “Fire protection consultant,” but on the RFP provided (page 6), it states “fire sprinklers (if applicable),” suggesting that a fire protection consultant may not be needed. Also, “furniture vendor/supplier” is marked as an incorrect example, because “[the architect] is not told to have furniture drawings and will not need to hire their own FFE designer,” but also on page 6, and elsewhere on the RFP, it states that all furniture and equipment locations must be indicated. **This especially contrasts with the answer to question #65, in which one of the correct answers re: what the architect should include in their fee proposal is “furniture/furnishings & equipment drawings”** Question #65: “Which services should the architect include in their fee proposal that are outside of what’s included in their basic services.” “Record drawings” are listed as an incorrect answer, but the RFP very clearly states on page 8 that as-built drawings are required. Hi @amim! Thank you for your questions and I apologize for my delayed response. Fire protection systems are listed under the **Mechanical scope** in the RFP, which is the primary indicator for requiring a fire protection consultant. Where “Fire Safety (if applicable)” is noted, this refers to _code implications_ and if fire sprinklers will be required depending on the construction or occupancy type later selected. Indicating furniture/equipment locations refers to the **coordination** with a furniture supplier, not the **design** of furniture/equipment. See item 1 under _K. OTHER BID DOCUMENTS_: “The furniture supplier and the A/E will coordinate and deliver final furniture plans and specifications for bidding…” This indicates that the owner will directly hire a furniture consultant for the design. The question asked which services the architect should include in their fee proposal **outside of their basic services**. The RFP requires the architect to coordinate their drawings with furniture and equipment drawings (provided by the owner’s consultant). This is not a basic service, as it is considered a _supplemental service_ per AIA B101 (the relevant contract in this scenario). As for the recording drawings - you are correct, as they are specifically indicated as a required item on the RFP. We will get this updated. Thank you for bringing this to our attention! I also had a question on this because on the RFP it says specifically “as built documents” are required. Are as built documents and record drawings the same thing?
