Hi! I’ve been using Black Spectacles for my past four exams and have passed all of them, so it’s been a great resource for me overall. However, I’m really struggling with the PPD and PDD video content. I’m finding the videos harder to follow compared to the earlier divisions. I know PPD is expected to be updated before PDD, and I was wondering if there’s any timeline on when the updated PPD videos might be released. At this point, I’m having a difficult time getting through the current videos for these last two exams and wanted to see if anyone has insight or has felt the same way. Thank you! ---

Welcome to the Black Spectacles Community @mariavirginia.portillo! We’re glad that you are here and happy to hear that our study materials have been helpful to you along your ARE journey. Congratulations on passing 4 exams - you are SO close to the finish line!!! Our team is actively working on updated content for both PPD and PDD divisions, with PPD set to launch on January 19th! We understand that our members have been eager for this, so we are excited that the time is quickly approaching. Once our team launches PPD, full focus will be on getting PDD completed in the following months. While I understand that the older video content may not be as easy to follow as our newer content, rest assured that they still align with NCARB’s learning objectives and are up-to-date with the current ARE standards. Any update on when the PDD section will be revamped? The new videos and additional quizzes really helped me to pass my PPD exam. ---

I’m so glad to hear that the revamped content was helpful in your studies. At this time, we do not have a specific release date for PDD yet. However, know that our team is actively working on PDD content (and have been since wrapping up the PPD content), so it’s coming soon 🙂 Once we have a better idea of timeline we will send a message out to members! I am really struggling with the PDD video content and can’t wait until it gets updated. It’s really hard to follow a different format for this section. Please give us an update on timeline and I hope it’s very soon. ---

Any update Kiara? Eagerly waiting for the updated content. Just passed my PPD yesterday and wanting to follow up with taking the PDD in the next 2 months. ---

Hi everyone! Thank you for your patience. Our team is actively working on the revamped PDD course, and I’m excited to share that you can expect it around early summer. We don’t have a confirmed launch date just yet, but we’ll be sure to share more details as we get closer. In the meantime, feel free to continue using our current PDD course, as it’s fully aligned with ARE 5.0 and includes everything you need to pass the exam. I cannot wait for these to be updated there is so much unnecessary information and the videos are so long. After failing PDD using these I respectfully disagree that everything we need is in there. I am anxiously awaiting updated videos. ---

@stephanie.lewis Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. I’m sorry to hear about your experience with PDD, and I completely understand the frustration. While we’re working on the updates, I’d recommend focusing on practice exams and identifying weak areas to target, or shifting to another division to keep your momentum going. Your input is helping shape the improvements we’re making, and we’re excited to bring you a revamped PDD course soon! Also, I don’t believe that you’ve had a chance to meet with one of our licensed architect consultants yet for a one-on-one ARE Consultation. This is a one-time complimentary offering for all members who have an unsuccessful exam attempt, which can help you analyze your score report and develop a game plan for your retake. @tinashendesign We do not have an official launch date yet, but our team is on track to release the updated PDD course in early summer. Hang tight and keep an eye out for updates in the coming weeks! In the meantime, have you checked out the **[Real-World Practice](https://www.blackspectacles.com/study-materials/real-world-practice)** exercises? They are a great resource to practice the case study format, while diving deeper into difficult ARE topics. ---
