Apologies for how late this is but for question 1, I am curious where there is any language in the question that described the architect providing the adequate equipment information. It seemed to me that the fault could have landed on the architect for not providing the equipment information to the structural engineer.

Per Thomas- the key is that the engineer has the information available to answer the question, and they need to acquire that information. If the Architect provided the wrong info or no information at all, then indeed the Architect may be liable.
The last sentence of this question spells out where my confusion was. I must missed that for some reason… I appreciate you going back and explaining, I understand now.
