Hello there,
I would like to say that I found black spectacles videos very helpful. However, I see there is a big difference between the formatting of the lecture video depending on what division you are in. This is very apparent in the PPD and PDD. These two section seem to be completely different then the other division. Is this because of the more in-depth content for these division or are they transitioning between the two formats?
Welcome to the ARE Community, @epipes16! Thank you for your question.
I am glad to hear that you have found the Black Spectacles videos helpful during your ARE journey.
You are correct - we recently redesigned our PcM, PjM, and CE videos to integrate a variety of new visual elements with consideration to how architects learn best, as well as the valuable feedback we’ve received from members. Our team is currently revamping the PA videos, with sections being released real time as they are completed. We recently released PA Section 3 and our team is working diligently to get Section 4 released soon.
We recognize that the PPD and PDD videos are structured quite differently, as they are currently in our older video format. However, rest assured that the content provided in these videos align directly with the NCARB objectives outlined in the ARE 5.0 Guidelines, just as our new videos do. As of now, we do not have a projected timeline for new PPD and PDD videos, but will definitely be restructuring them in the future to align with these new standards.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Happy studying!
