Hi! I’m looking for a resource about how systems respond during egress procedures in a building during an emergency (which doors close, how elevators are programmed to respond…ect)
Could anyone point me to a helpful NCARB resource?

Hi @delaney.cole, welcome to the ARE Community and thank you for your question!
Mechanical and Electrical Equipment for Buildings (MEEB) might have what you’re looking for. In reference to the 11th edition, check out Chapter 24 Fire Protection, Section 26.39 Emergency/Standby Power Equipment, and Section 31.45 Emergency Power (Elevators).
Please note that this is a very niche topic and you likely won’t see many (if any) questions about this on the ARE. It is important that you target your studying to align with the NCARB objectives listed under PPD in the ARE 5.0 Guidelines, as all questions on the exam will tie directly back to an objective.
Hope this helps. Happy studying!
