how are point load and uniform load translated to architectural language?
ie. is uniform load coming from the weight of the component itself ?
what is the point load refer to , column , foot , fixed furniture , louver ?

Hi @xurubi ,
I’ll do my best to help!
A point load is a load acting a small area. So they calculate it as acting on a single point.
A uniform load is a load acting across a span or significant area.
A point load might be where one column sits on a beam. A uniform load might be the load of an entire floor across a horizontal support.
Here’s some free online resources I found on the topic.
Hope this helps!
