Hi @coachadamcoers, I have a quick question on ADA Requirements. If we were to say what an ADA approved hallway width requirements are, would it be 36" min or 44"? I’ve seen both of these numbers repeatedly and would be helpful to get clarification. Thank you!
Hello @tamara.z.jamil
According to the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design (section 403.5) and the ICC A117.1-09 (section 403) the minimum with of an accessible hallway is 36" (32" clear) and the minimum width of a corridor being 60". From what I can see, the 44" minimum applies to an exception to a corridor minimum width regarding play areas.
Hopefully this helps!
Thank you! Yes this is helpful and clarifying.
