I’ve been able to understand better the subjects about heat island effect, albedo and emissivity. In essence, its good to have high albedo and high emissivity.
The question I have is if this is across all the different climate zones or would it vary depending on the climate zone? if so, what is best in each climate zone?

Yes, having high albedo and high emissivity is generally beneficial, but their effectiveness varies depending on the climate zone. I actually worked on a project for a client in the caribbean. They really wanted to have a black facade for their facility for the aesthetic purposes, however we knew that the color would not be the best because of the heat absorption. We did a presentation to the client to prove that the high albedo surfaces (light-colored materials) would help reflect solar radiation and reduce cooling loads. In colder climates lower albedo materials (darker colors) like Scandinavia are beneficial because they absorb more heat and help reduce heating demands.
