Errors throughout lecture videos & notes

Hi there!
I’ve been using the lecture videos and notes provided for the guided program on the PjM, and I’ve noticed a lot of errors as I go through them. I can’t remember them all, but here are some examples:

  • In the “Construction Documents” lecture video, there is a snippet from Carl Sergio about a permit expeditor that is not only out of place in the video - it was already shown in a previous lecture video (that one actually being ABOUT permit expediting).
  • In the “Building Code + Zoning Analysis” section, the lecture notes are incorrectly titled on one of the slides as a previous lecture video (“Using the CDs During Bidding + CA”), which originally confused me into thinking I missed information from that previous video rather than realizing it was just incorrectly titled.
  • Several key terms not providing a definition at all, resulting in my having to pause the lecture video to go find the definition.
  • Lack of clarity on how to fill out some of the charts (particularly the “consultant meeting type” chart in the “Project Team Communication” section, but there were a few others as well if I remember correctly.)
  • Repeated questions on two consecutive pages (“A133” section).

I’ve used the lecture slides & videos for two other exams with no issues, so this one just kind of stuck out like a sore thumb to me since I kept running into errors. Unsure if anyone else has noticed these issues, or if I just printed my slides at a particularly weird time, but I figured it was worth mentioning in case other people are experiencing the same confusion I am! It’s definitely distracting.

Welcome to the ARE Community, @ctilton! We’re happy to have you here.

Thank you for taking the time to write in and bring these items to our attention. I’ve passed your comments along to our team. We will review and make adjustments to our study materials as appropriate.

The Lecture Slides are intended to structure your note-taking and encourage critical thinking about the topics presented. In the Lecture Videos, we may not explicitly answer the questions asked in the Lecture Slides, but we will provide foundational information and additional context in relation to those questions. By responding to the prompts provided, you are regurgitating the content and training your brain to apply your knowledge to different scenarios. This is why we don’t provide an “answer key” or excessive guidance in the Lecture Slides - we want you to have the flexibility to learn in the way that you do best!

Also, note that any Key Term indicated in the Lecture Videos and Lecture Slides can also be found in your Flashcards, which will provide direct definitions of those terms.

If you have any further questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out.
