Hi! I was about a week into studying for the PPD when I saw that new content is going to be released in mid-January. I was planning to deep dive into studying but I don’t want to lose progress since I am using the guided path study plan. Should I wait for the new content to be released and focus on a different exam?
Hi @sedona.quimby, thanks for reaching out! The route you take is totally up to you and there is no wrong approach. Our new PPD content will be totally revamped and introduce a ton of visuals and streamlined information, so it will be quite different than the existing content. However, it will still cover the same key concepts in alignment with the NCARB objectives. With that said, continuing with the existing PPD content as you’ve been doing will still be beneficial and you won’t be “restudying” repetitive content once we launch new content. You’ll still want to review all the new PPD content once it is released, rather than just picking up where you left off in the existing content.
We are set to launch the new PPD content on January 19th, so that gives you about 2 weeks. I don’t recommend pausing studying completely as you want to keep the momentum going. If you want to pause your progress on the videos specifically, you could still use these next 2 weeks to review flashcards, take a couple of practice exams, and/or listen to ARE Live episodes.
If you feel like it would be worthwhile to pause PPD completely and switch gears, I’d recommend you dive into PDD. There is a ton of overlap with PPD so you won’t be derailing your progress or anything. Just keep in mind that it is not realistic to get through the entire PDD course in these next 2 weeks.
Ultimately, do what works best for you and what you think will keep you most engaged and motivated!

Welcome to the Black Spectacles Community @courtney! At this time, we do not have a specific release date yet. However, know that our team is actively working on PDD content (and have been since wrapping up the PPD content), so it’s coming soon Once we have a better idea of timeline we will send a message out to members!
