PDD Section 3 Quiz Question 4

Answer is “Solid surface sheets”. Is this correct? Since surface sheets acturally have seams to trap the dirt.

“Epoxy painted drywall” sounds about right according to google result: waterproof, easy to clean surface and chemical resistance, ideal for high-moisture like bathroom, kitchen..

Welcome to the Black Spectacles Community @xuz9! Thanks for writing in with your question.

While you are correct about the durability of epoxy painted drywall, it is not the best answer of the given choices for the specific question/scenario at hand. Even though there are seams in solid surface sheets, they’re typically welded and finished flush, so the wall acts like one continuous, nonporous surface. That’s very different from tile grout or vinyl seams that can actually trap dirt.

Epoxy-painted drywall is cleanable, but it doesn’t hold up as well long-term with constant disinfecting, which is why solid surface is preferred in procedure rooms.

Hope this helps!

The comparison between Epoxy-pained drywall and Solid surface sheets makes sense to me.

Thank you, Kiara!
