There is a question in the quiz wanting us to judge how is the void ratio based on density given in psf. Are we supposed to learn all this by heart? There was no table or chart given for reference.

2 years later but it’s the last PA Section three quiz. The correct answer is “Void Ratio” and references Architectural graphic standards (not the page either). It gives you the pcf of the dry weight of a sandy soil and expects you to know what to do with that. I don’t see anywhere in architectural graphic standards that references what a “normal” pcf range would be and think this quiz question should be removed. There is no reference point for us to know how much void vs solid is in the soil or a typical soil. Apparently 80 ish pcf is low? How would I possibly know that.
Interested to hear the logic for finding the right answer without omnipresence.
