Trying to figure out what exactly is the Architects role in extending time. In the A201- 8.3 “contract time shall be extended by Change Order for such reasonable time as the Architect may determine”
Change orders need to be approved by all parties, so does this mean that the time the Architect may determine extendable is to advise the owner to extend the time or is it the Architect approving it? My thought was that the Architect cannot approve time or costs without the owners approval so the Architect advises the owner, creates the change order and gets it signed by everyone. Can the Architect extend time without the owner approval?
