Is it best to study the material NCARB shows in there guide
Different people have different strategies for time management during the exam, and I think it takes some practice exams to figure out what works best for you. Keep in mind you have about 2.5 minutes per question - I like to check the clock periodically and make sure Iâm on track.
Some options you can try:
Take the case study questions first - these take longer than usual, but you definitely want to make sure you have time to answer them. re-calculate your time per question once youâre done and then tackle the discrete questions.
Skim through the whole exam and answer the questions you know / the shorter questions. Re-calculate your time per question once youâre done with this and youâll likely have more than 2.5 min/ question for the longer/harder ones
Try highlighting on your first read of a question so that you donât need to re-read the whole question the second time; you can just focus on your highlights.
I took both exams, and there are questions from each category within each exam. I suggest studying for both and then taking them in whatever order you want to
Just to add on to Kiaraâs fantastic answer about staying motivated - I personally always told friends, colleagues, etc. that I was studying and when my exams were, because I knew theyâd ask me how itâs going and how I did on the exam. This gave me extra motivation because I wanted to tell them that I passed!
Yes, this is a great way to have others help to hold you accountable! I did this as well and itâs nice to have support along the way
