Hi- the q below have the correct answer- I am not sure why after the ADDENDUM, the 100% CD’s are not up to date? I would think the Architect is responsible to update them to the Addendum.

This is the question : During construction of a big-box store, the architect notes that the light fixtures are not installed with the correct spacing. After investigating, the architect finds that the lighting subcontractor installed the light fixtures according to the 100% CD drawings, but the spacing of the light fixtures was changed via an addendum during the bidding process.
Who is responsible for the cost to reinstall the lighting fixtures according to the locations shown on the addendum?
The lighting subcontractor
Incorrect. The lighting subcontractor installed the lights according to the drawing provided to them by the general contractor, therefore they’re not at fault. They will likely charge a change order to the project to reinstall the lights, which the general contractor will have to pay for.
The general contractor
Correct. The general contractor is responsible because they should have accounted for the addendum in their bid. In this situation, the general contractor would likely need to pay the subcontractor an additional sum to relocate the fixtures.
The owner
Incorrect. The owner would be responsible if there was no addendum issued, and if the owner changed their mind about the lighting layout after seeing it in the field. This isn’t the situation that’s described.

The architect
Incorrect. The architect issued an addendum before construction began, and the general contractor should have based their price on the revised drawings.
