Your looking for the architect new fee, not the additional fee for the interior and landscape design. Can you verify if i’m right?

Hi @AJPeng - this question and explanation are correct.
The correct answer ($1,824,000) is the architect’s original fee ($1,600,000) plus the additional 5% and 9% for interior design and landscaping design.

Our explanation notes to perform the math by multiplying the original fee by 1.14. This is the fastest way to arrive at the answer but another way would be as follows:
original fee - $1,600,000
landscape design (5% x $1.6mm) = $80,000
interior design (9% x $1.6mm) = $144,000

$1,600,000 + $80,000 + $144,000 = $1,824,000

Multiplying by 1.14 is simply a faster way of adding 5% and 9% to the original total
1.0 + 5% + 9% = 1.00 + .05 + .09 = 1.14
