Hi when would you use master specification format? And when would you use uniformat specs?
I know masterspec follows the format of bidding/contracts, existing building, concrete, masonry, etc.
Uniformat is generally organizing specs by assembly systems.
Hello @sergioclaure93 -
I think this is a question that our in house Architect can answer best for you @coachchrishopstock .

Hi @sergioclaure93 -
According to the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI, which publishes both):
“UniFormat is often seen in performance specifications and preliminary project descriptions (PPD). Its most notable use is as a format for estimators to present cost estimates during the schematic design phase”
Master Format is typically used in DD and CD sets.
