PPD day 1

Hi I have gone through resources for PCM/ PJM / CE ( although I undertand that your recommondation is to keep CE to the end). I stopped CE and went to PPD. Day one has the REAL life study case- and this is the first time looking at it- but I am not even ready with all the calculations. Am I missing something? Am I supposed to know that already from earlier prepping? I thought it gradually exposes me to all the structural stuff- but looks like I need to jump in the deep end. What is the purpose? Do Iskip that in day one and come back to it later? I am worried…

@sevanb I’m so sorry for the confusion - that exercise was in the incorrect location and should have been on Day 45 of the 60-day plan (Day 82 of the 100-day plan), so I have fixed that. All Real-World Practice exercises have been integrated into study plans at appropriate locations so that you would have covered key concepts in previous study materials first. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns.

Good luck on your PPD studies!

P.S. The order that you take the exams is a completely personal choice, so while we may generally recommend CE last, your approach works well too! I also took PcM, PjM, and CE first when I studied for the ARE

Thank you- So the only reason I am a bit hesitant- is that i have studied up to day 15 on CE- and then had a question that was more technical that I didn’t know- so i was wondering if i need to know that for the CE. I am not studying for 1 exam at a time. i am doing some combo. I am half way with CE, and 8 days in PA ( which is very intuitive for me), and lastly started PPD. I still have to retake the PjM. I want to ask a team member for help on study combo tactic. Also, I sent out my results from the PjM and no one has contacted me. Where is a good place to reachout to?

@sevanb While the objectives that NCARB identifies for CE does not explicitly include technical content, you will definitely encounter some on the exam. Think of it like a real-life architectural project - each phase is not isolated; they build upon each other and decisions made in one phase will influence subsequent phases. This is one of the reasons why taking CE after PPD and PDD might be preferred. I think your approach of studying for multiple exams at a time is great, as there is a ton of overlap. Just make sure that you are allocating appropriate study time and attention to each division, as there are some nuances and unique concepts from one to another.

I sent you an email earlier today about rescheduling your one-on-one consultation. When you meet with our licensed architect consultant, they can further discuss other strategies or questions you have.

Best of luck!

It is also next week and it doesn’t work for me.
Any change someone is available earlier? 10.30-2:00 PT time? I am able to schedule 8:00-9:00 as well for specific dates. Hoping to see someone sooner than later.

Thank you,

Sevan

@sevanb Yes, I can open up some availability for you next week. I’ll send you an email with my scheduling link. Looking forward to chatting soon!
