PPD Section 2 Quiz

There is a question as shown below:
"The owner of a lot in a business-zoned district wants to build a new funeral home on the property. A funeral home is allowable in this district with the appropriate zoning approvals.

Select the zoning procedure on the matrix that the owner would need to follow to receive the necessary approval for this project."
The correct response is Special Use Permit.

What I did not understand what part of the question would drive the Special Use Permit response here? Need help understanding how to read this question.

Thanks
Roy

Hi @p.ghoshroy,

Thanks for your question! The indication in the question that points to special use permit is:

A funeral home is allowable in this district with the appropriate zoning approvals.

As the answer explanation states, when an occupancy is designated as a special use in a zoning ordinance, it requires review and approval by the AHJ. This is done through a special use permit. None of the other zoning procedures in the matrix would be appropriate for this particular case.

Hope this helps!
