Can you also forward me the recording? I was not able to make it to the webinar today.
@clifford.marvin Sometimes it does feel like we need a command center to get everything done. One of the reasons we started engaging here was because the questions on the live session chat feature expire when the episode ends and we want to make sure everyone gets their question answered! Thanks for being accommodating.
Hi @phsi6213
We will upload the entire episode shortly, and you can find it here - https://blackspectacles.com/podcast
Weâll get thereâŚI remember the âfantasyâ of two-way wrist watches in Dick Tracy newspaper comic stripsâŚnow itâs practically a reality.

Hi all, I wanted to pop in some resources regarding cost (@gloriaw92 & @allison.vanheugten) estimating and azimuth analysis (@heather & @drewd) . See the following:
Cost Estimating
- AHPP 15th edition, chapter 10.3: Project Budgets, Work Planning, and Monitoring
- Problem Seeking: An Architectural Programming Primer, Part 1, heading âStepsâ
- The Project Resource Manual: CSI Manual of Practice, section 2.5: Budget
Azimuth Analysis
- Building Construction Illustrated 5th edition, chapter 1.14: Solar Radiation
- The Architectâs Studio Companion: Rules of Thumb for Preliminary Design, section 3, chapter 1: Design Criteria for Daylighting Systems
- Green Building Illustrated, chapter 4: Community and Site
- Heating, Cooling, Lighting: Sustainable Design Methods for Architects, chapter 6: Solar Geometry
I would take an educated guess that âSun, Wind, and Lightâ and âThe Daylighting Handbookâ review solar azimuth, but I canât confirm. It looks like âHeating, Cooling, Lightingâ has a very comprehensive chapter on calculating the solar azimuth and using it in design. If I were to start anywhere, Iâd start with that one.
Let me know if anyone is after other resources!
