Came across this practice exam question: “In a movie theater with 2,409 fixed seats, what is the total number of required wheelchair spaces?”
The answer is 19 seats
Why isn’t the answer 6 + (2409/150)?
The 6 spaces covers the first 500 seats. For the remainder, subtract 500 from 2,409 and divide that number by 150. Since it says “or fraction thereof”, round that number up.
2409 - 500 = 1909
1909 / 150 = 12.73
round up to 13 and add to 6
