Hi all,
One question, is architect has responsibility in its basic service to coordinate with owner’s consultants? I find it’s kind of confusing in B101 document 3.1.2 and 5.8
Thank you!

Hi @whuang let’s see if @heatherrivera can answer this one for you.
Hi @whuang,
Yes, per the B101, the architect is responsible for working with the owner’s consultants. For example: often times, this consultant will be a civil engineer who has done a site survey. The civil engineer was hired by the owner and is not part of the architect’s team, but it is still the architect’s responsibility to work with both the owner and the civil engineer in this case. The architect is not responsible for any errors or omissions on the consultant’s work, but if the architect does become aware of an error, omission, or inconsistency, it is his responsibility to notify the owner.
I hope that helps!
Be well,
Heather Rivera, NCARB
