How can an Architect avoid liability for on-site inspection?

  1. ask for funds for additional services

  2. recommend owner to hire a third party inspector

  3. Request a third party inspector

I would imagine #2. recommend owner to hire a third party inspector, although dont know the difference between #2 and #3

Hi @vyan28 ,

Was this a question you ran across on a Black Spectacle’s exam? I’m not sure I’m quite understanding it.

It is important to not that the architect only is required to make 1 inspection by default per the B101, which is to establish substantial completion. All other site visits are considered observations that do not require detailed inspections. See below snippets from B101.
