UPDATE - Information regarding Prometric and NCARB policies is continuously changing, please reference this link for the most recent openings and closures.
We have another testing update - and you don’t want to ignore this like you do with those software updates on your computer. Prometric has announced they are keeping all testing facilities in North America closed until May 1, 2020. In response, NCARB has extended their no-cost rescheduling period for ARE appointments indefinitely. They also are adding an additional six-month rolling clock extension, on top of the current three-month extension already applied to your valid passing scores.
Prometric:
- Prometric is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak to determine when they will reopen test centers.
- When Prometric does reopen, they will be operating at 50% capacity to maintain social distancing for testers.
- If a reopened test center is booked beyond the 50% capacity limit, Prometric will randomly select candidates to reschedule in order to ensure a safe testing environment.
Rescheduling:
- All rescheduling fees have been waived until further notice.
- Be proactive in rescheduling upcoming exam appointments if you have concerns about your local test center not reopening or if you prefer not to test in the current environment.
- Rescheduling existing appointments and scheduling new appointments over the next several months may be difficult due to limited seat availability, so please schedule into the future to avoid further disruption.
Rolling Clock:
- An additional six-month rolling clock extension will automatically be applied to all passing ARE scores that were valid as of March 1, 2020. This will add to the three-month extension already added to your valid passing scores.
- All extensions will be granted by the end of April to ensure no exam scores will expire before testing returns to normal. You don’t need to take additional action to receive this extension.
