Record drawings are indeed different than âas-designedâ drawings. Record drawings show the actual conditions as built, âas-designedâ would be the intent of the original drawings. Record drawings (also called as-builts or as-constructed) can be done by the GC, a sub-contractor, the architectâŚit doesnât need to be a specific person. It is usually included in the contract though can be added later for an additional fee.
Correct, no T/F questions on the exam. I think Mike brought this up as an example of âabsolute languageâ. When you see this type of language (never, always, every time, etc) it should throw up a little red flag in your brain that the question may be tricky, as there are rarely times in which absolute language is used in practice/contracts.
