yeah I was just thinking that!!
Regarding substantial completion, if something that has to be signed of by the Fire Department has not been done, but everything else is done, can the project be substantially complete?
Wait a minuteā¦ I knew there were definitely not three correct answers! Bad question!
You couldnāt register an answer on this question without choosing three.
I was very confused by it
I think this question was meant to say āwhich 3 are NOT true.ā I was confused by the question.
I think youāre correct. Thanks for pointing this out!
Also glad folks are catching this. Shows that youāre on top of your knowledge!!!
I think this depends on the jurisdiction. If this was a test question in the way you phrased it, my answer would be āno, if something is outstanding with the fire department it cannot be considered substantially completeā. That said, there may be exceptions to that per jurisdiction. If the FD is waiting to review an alarm or sprinkler system, then I would say no, the project cannot be considered substantially complete, but if theyāre waiting on a signature from the architect to confirm record drawings, then they may be more flexible and allow substantial completion.
Hello! Great session! Thanks for having this webinar!
Hi . Thanks for the Webinar.
I C. Thanks! Yes, it was a test question that showed up in both of the times I took the exam. I think I guessed the answer correctly the first time. The second time I doubted myself, picked a different answer, and I think I got it wrong.
Ugh I know what you mean, I hate it when that happens! I wish we could see the answers for certain questions haha. I want to know what I got wrong and why!
Hey there! Do you know a good way to purchase a used version of this? It looks to be a bit pricey new. Thanks!
That would help A LOT!!!
Definitely. Iāve gotten some reference books cheaply on ebay, there are also some digital copies that may be cheaper, I think. Otherwise, check out your local AIA component or any university libraries in your area, they may have a copy you can borrow.
Does that include life/safety issues?
what? he just got me confused.
On question four, you listed Record drawings or as-builts and explained them as dependent on contract. In the architects handbook, thereās a distinction between āas-designedā and āas-constructedā drawings. It seems as if āas-constructedā or as-builts are by contractor and for review by architect. Again, contingent on the B101, it seems an acceptable answer to this question would be to ask for contractor to provide the drawings to owner. Can someone clarify?
I agree with thisā¦that was my choice
So, would the rule of thumb be that if the question has always or never, then the default answer is āfalseā?
I took the test twice, and I donāt remember seeing any T/F questions on the exam.
