I was given this scenario, in which the program, site, and schedule and cost were roughly defined. I chose the answer that SCHEDULE was the most incomplete, because in the B101 it clearly defines how you have milestones defined. So why did I. get this wrong? The answer was that SCOPE was incomplete because no square footage was provided. But that is much more developed than the vague timing provided? Why did I get this wrong? See below my answer and why it was wrong, and then below that is the scenario:
[Schedule] “Incorrect. A schedule has been provided, even though it may be vague at this point”
@annarbrodersen I understand why “schedule” feels like the better answer, especially because B101 discusses schedules in terms of milestones and phased expectations. However, the key distinction in this question is that a schedule goal does exist (“occupy part of the building in one year”), even if it is vague.
The scope, however, is considered fundamentally incomplete because the owner has not actually defined the size or extent of the project. Listing desired spaces is not enough to establish scope under B101. Without that information, the architect cannot determine the project’s actual scale or evaluate whether the budget and schedule are feasible.
This is a great example of the ARE requiring you to select the most correct answer, even if other answer choices may also appear “correct.”
Also, for future reference when asking about a specific practice question, please refrain from sending screenshots or copying/pasting the text verbatim - instead, it is helpful if you could provide the 5-7 item ID number located at the bottom right of the question screen. I’ve removed the portion of your post where the scenario was copied and pasted.
Hope this helps!

@annarbrodersen also just a heads up - we have dedicated community threads for each Real-World Practice exercise so that you can ask questions and engage in discussions with others who are studying the same division. You can access the thread by clicking on the “Discuss in the community” button when completing the exercise on your dashboard.
@annarbrodersen The button should take you to the specific community thread related to that exercise, so this one links to this thread:
But no worries - if you create a new post we will still be sure to answer your question. The dedicated threads, however, allow others to see questions/answers that arise from the exercise and promote additional discussion/collaboration amongst peers.
