Live Q&ARE w/ NCARB

Martin, the loading times for excerpts in the case studies can have a lag. It depends on your server and the CPU of the Prometric comuter. So this is a real issue in terms of time management for all candidates during testing.

Considering the issues that most test takers have while loading the case studies documents in Prometric test centers, how is this going to be avoided on the online proctored test at home?

Leo - thank you, and others for your feedback on timing. We monitor all activity on the exams (including the time testers take on each question) continuously and consider adjustments as deemed appropriate with the consultation of our psychometricians.

A big thank you to NCARB and Black Spectacles for simply being here and answering questions. Also, a big remote hug to all my fellow ARE exam takers!

NCARB any feedback on my comment:

I need to schedule a test before my seat credit expires in November 2020. If I schedule through Prometric for lets say February 2021 but by then the remote testing has started and I rather do the remote testing, will I be able to use/apply that seat credit that i scheduled trough Prometric already?

Hi - So as far as the industry - can’t help you there! I will share that we used to include metric equivalents on the ARE - when Canada used our examination. We removed the metric equivalents when Canada introduced the EXA-C

Hi there! Yes, please see above.

Thank you all for coming to our LiveQ&ARE with NCARB! Special thanks to @Bryan-NCARB, @Harry-NCARB and @Martin-NCARB for spending some time here to answer everyone’s burning questions. The live portion of the event has ended but we will keep this thread up for 90 days, at which point we will remove it to stay up to date with NCARB news.

Thanks Harry.
Hopefully the shift to the metric scale will arrive in the US in our lifetime.
Yards, ', " it is then!

HI Hans!!! It has been a long time indeed. I assume you are in US, are you in Minnesota? Glad to hear from you

Thank you Bryan for your response. I contacted NCARB twice as well via email about refund inquiry but no responses yet. Is there a phone number I can reach?

Remote testing may be one solution at this time, but it would be great to have a testing center here on the Big Island for testing in general to have both options to take exams remotely and in person. I don’t think we should have to buy a flight to take exams… Thoughts?
